The school ran a successful maths information evening for parents recently. We shared with parents our new ‘Progression of Skills in Maths’ booklet which outlines how we teach addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in each year group; we hope this will enable parents and grandparents to support children at home using the same methods as children are taught in school. It also gives examples of number and word problems for each age group so parents can see the level of difficulty children are expected to cope with.
Many thanks to the teachers, who shared examples, activities and games to help show parents how the operators are taught. Thank you to the parents who came along, we hope it was useful. If you would like a copy of the Progression of Skills booklet please leave your name with the office staff and we will send one home for you.
