Team Radipole Sports News

Our netball teams were in action last week in the local schools league and both sides showed how their matchplay is developing by recording victories.

On Wednesday Radipole A went to Dorchester and convincingly defeated St Osmunds 12-3 finishing their match in near darkness. This concluded their ‘A’league games and they have lost 1, drawn 1 and won 2.

On Thursday Radipole B had a very difficult match with the current ‘B’ league leaders, St Augustines, who had won their four other matches.  At the end of a very tight and competitive game, Radipole had secured a 7-4 victory. This means they have won all 3 of their games so far and still have 2 to play which are currently being arranged.

Miss Charlesworth and Mrs Tilsed are very pleased with the teams performances so far this year and have a nuge number of children attending netball club each week. There are lots of players challenging for places on the teams and at least 2 more competitions next term to complete. We are also trying to organise some friendly games for the year 5 children in the club so they get the opportunity to experience playing against other schools ready for next autumn when the league will start again.

Having had a bye in the opening round of their league, the football team will be in action on Friday 1st December against Bincombe on the front field. We hope this match will kick-off before 3.30 and I’m sure the team would appreciate some support.

Recently 10 year 6 children  attended a hockey skills festival at Redlands. Some of the children have been attending the popular hockey club which has been running on a wednesday after school so were keen to show the skills they have been learning. This popular event was attended by several other local schools and all the children enjoyed the experience of playing against other school while learning new skills as well.

Our newly trained year 5 bronze sport ambassadors are regularly organising games on the KS1 playground while the year 6 bronze ambassadors are helping Mrs Tilsed with Year 2 P.E. warm-ups on Wednesday afternoons.

Dont forget to show you are members of team Radipole by proudly wearing your sports badges in your team colours and your pictures should be on the Team Radipole board in the hall .
