Yesterday we celebrated World Book Day (slightly later than planned due to the snow). We set the children the challenge to dress up as an unusual word, and the children did a fantastic job. They looked wonderful. We had children who had clearly done a lot of work at home finding unusual words and gone to so much effort with their costumes. We had children dressed as ‘contraption’, ‘dapper’, ‘affluent’, ‘movement’, ‘mystical’ to name just a few.
The children also enjoyed sharing their favourite book in the afternoon. This years World Book Day theme was ‘share a book’, and the children really enjoyed reading their favourite stories to each other.
Thank you to all the children who took part, and a big thank you to all the parents and carers at home who helped with their costumes.
